3 strikes and you are out - HOLDING

The majority of mustangs are not out on the range but instead live their lives "IN HOLDING". That means they have been rounded up, processed, gone to 3 adoption events and then become a "3 Strikes Horse" . They get a U branded on their flank , that means Unadoptable, and get shipped to the east to short and long term holding facilities. Many foals are born and live their entire life in HOLDING.
